After finishing third in 2019 before being knocked out of finals in straight sets, the Roos were set to field a very young team last year before COVID eventually forced the league to be cancelled.
The break has allowed the team to boost their ranks with the return of former experienced players Emma McAuley, Chelsea Walker and Georgia Matthews.
Meg Reinhold, who will be assisted by mother Angela and sister Abbey, is one of a number of new coaches in the league this year.
She is confident they have the nucleus to enjoy a strong season, which starts at home against a strong-looking North Wagga on Saturday.
"We'll be pretty similar to 2019, we've lost two players but gained a few who have had a year off (McAuley, Walker and Matthews)," Reinhold said.
"They'll bring a lot of experience, which will be good to have back in the team.
IN OTHER NEWS
"The town did miss it (football and netball on Saturdays). Being a small town everyone likes to play sport on weekends and we're all keen to get back into it.
"It (playing and coaching) will be tough, but hopefully after the first game I'll get the hang of it."
Reinhold feels North Wagga, who have recruited the likes of Flynn Hogg, Sarah O'Leary and Lily Wild, will be among the flag contenders, along with the Ashleigh O'Leary-led Barellan and perennial grand finalists Charles Sturt University.
SATURDAY'S DRAW
All games 1.30pm: Coleambally v CSU at Coleambally; East Wagga-Kooringal v The Rock-Yerong Creek at Gumly Oval; Marrar v Northern Jets at Langtry Oval; Temora v North Wagga at Nixon Park
