A man accused of robbing a taxi driver while armed with a screwdriver before breaking into a house and found cowering in a cupboard now has a date with the court.

The 20-year-old was picked up by a taxi on Mate Street about 5.45am on Thursday.
As he got out at Plover Street, he allegedly took out a screwdriver and demanded cash.
The driver compiled and the man took cash, a mobile phone and an EFTPOS machine.
In other news
Police were notified and were told the man had broken into a Calimo Street home a short time later.
He was found hiding in a cupboard before being arrested and charged with armed robbery and other offences.
He is due to face court on Thursday afternoon.
