And she'll have a player who helped spearhead The Rock-Yerong Creek's premiership dynasty after Sarah O'Leary's move to the Saints.
O'Leary featured in the Magpies' three straight flags from 2017 to 2019, coaching the side in the last two, before the Farrer League was cancelled last year due to COVID.
Goal attack Hogg, 19, had agreed to join North Wagga from Collingullie-Glenfield Park last year, and will finally wear her new colours for the first time at Temora in round one.
Hogg is building her coaching experience through academy and representative netball programs as an assistant to Rosemary Clarke, and jumped at the chance to take the helm at the Saints.
IN OTHER NEWS
"I'll use every chance I get to build my confidence up with coaching," Hogg said.
"I do feel a bit odd telling the older girls what to do, but they're all behind it and helping me out.
"Everyone's really excited, it feels like this weekend's been coming forever now (after last season was cancelled). Everyone's worked hard on their fitness last year it seems, it's just sharpening up those netball skills again.
"We've played a few trials but haven't had a full team in any of those games. There's a few things to work on, but I'd be worried if there wasn't."
Hogg is likely to partner with Lily Wild in the attacking third, who has also made the move across from the Magpies.
She said the addition of star defender O'Leary will be a massive help as she adjust to her maiden year as a first grade coach.
"I messaged Sarah before I took the position and asked if she could support me a bit. She's more than happy to help me out, but said she'll back me in," Hogg said.
"If she something that needs adjusting in defence she can look after things there."
