A MAN is on the run in the Riverina region after ramming a police car in a vehicle suspected to be stolen.

Officers from the Murray River Police District were patrolling Redgums Drive in Moama about 11.30am on Sunday when they saw a man running towards a white Ford Falcon utility which police believed to be stolen.
The man was armed with a rifle and as police approached him, he entered the utility and drove towards the marked police car, ramming it several times before reversing through a metal fence.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The utility was last seen driving east along Perricoota Road.
No police officers were injured during the incident, while their vehicle sustained minor damage.
Police are now appealing for information in the hopes of speaking to a man who may be able to assist them.
He is described as being approximately 175cm tall and was wearing dark clothing with his face covered at the time of the incident.
Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
