Wagga Harness Racing Club president Terry McMillan said their first Easter Sunday event was a smash success, and that they plan to hold the event every year.

"It was a terrific day. We had the Easter Bunny, free ice creams, pony rides, jumping castles," Mr McMillan said.
"The racing was really good. We saw some really close finishes, terrific horses, and great running times."
Mr McMillan said they chose to run the event on an Easter Sunday, based on feedback that there was precious little else to do in Wagga on that day.
The mini trotters also got their chance to shine on the group one day, with a 'pick six' tipping competition and other events.
