The Canberra-based brothers, now aged 24 and 25, wanted to find a way to provide a service to people who were unable to drive their own vehicles, but who still needed their cars to be moved.

"The way we'd thought of it was, one day I'd bought a car and it was a nightmare to pick it up and I thought, 'wouldn't it be good if someone could just bring it to me," said younger brother Joshua.

Recognising the potential for others to have similar needs, the Canberra-based brothers, while both still at university, founded their business.

"The way it works is, the drivers will be in pairs. Someone books the driver on the app and they drive out to where your car is, and then one will drive you and your car back home, while the other driver follows," Mr Gonzalez Minero said.

"For people on a night out, one drink turns into a few and you've still got your car with you, but you've got no way to get it back home. From experience, that happens more than people expect.

"Say moving them and car after a night out, or just their car if they have booked in for service and [are] not able to get it their themselves."

Now five years after it started, the brothers are looking to expand their business into Wagga.

"We're looking for drivers in Wagga, people who might want to make a bit of extra money mostly on the weekends," Mr Gonzalez Minero said.

"We're going into the Gold Coast this week as well. We wanted to start it in a city that was bigger than Canberra, and we wanted to start it in a regional market, so Wagga was a no-brainer."

The PKUp app is already operating in Wagga, but the brothers are hoping to be able to start delivering services around the city in the coming weeks.

Similar to other ride-share businesses and more traditional transport options, PKUp pricing is based on distance and driving time.

"The app has launched so the best thing for people to do is to jump on and have a look, there they can get an estimate of pricing," Mr Gonzalez Minero said.
