Canola Way heading west from the existing 50km/h to 100km/h speed change for 650 metres will be subject to the change, aimed at reflecting recent development along the road.
Coolamon mayor John Seymour said the change would mean drivers heading into town would be slowing down earlier when approaching a section of road earmarked for industrial development.

"If it's going to be a little bit more activity along there, I can see the reasoning behind it to slow the traffic down a bit before it gets into the middle of the industrial area," he said.
In the Snowy Valleys, 1.6km of Batlow Road heading south from the Snowy Mountains Highway will be reduced from 100km/h to 80km/h, with a section of the Snowy Mountains Highway between Batlow Road and Sturt Close also seeing the same reduction.
The Transport NSW website attributes both changes to local community concerns.
The changes will come into effect in the next two weeks, and should only be followed once the speed signs have been installed.
