The Conservatorium of Music's Riverina Youth Orchestra will perform their 'Symphonic Sounds' concert at the Wagga Civic Theatre at 7.30pm on Saturday.
Conservatorium director Hamish Tait said the concert would be "hugely exciting" for the students, staff and the audience after a year of few live music events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The Conservatorium students attend almost every school in Wagga from the private to the government schools, from primary to high schools and university students," Mr Tait said.
"For the most part, the age range is from about 12 to 18."
The concert will feature works such as Beethoven's Piano Concerto no 3 in C Minor, with 2021 Dr Ray King scholarship winner Maria Tynan on piano, a world premiere of a new work by Riverina composer Brett Thompson and the famous Argentinian tango Por Una Cabeza and the 2nd movement of Vivaldi's Guitar Concerto in D Major.
Mr Tait said the Youth Orchestra had missed out on holding a concert for Beethoven's 250th birthday last year and would take the chance to celebrate the composer's work on Saturday.
The Riverina Concert Band and the Conservatorium's Student Concert Band will also take part and premiere the Tangoliscious composition by woodwind teacher Kara Williams.
