The first batch of AstraZeneca vaccines have arrived at the Glenrock Country Practice respiratory clinic, which has been named as one one of five hubs in the Murrumbidgee capable of administering 1200 jabs a week.
Principal general practitioner Ayman Shenouda said the federal government chose his practice to be one of about 150 Commonwealth-funded respiratory clinics at the start of the pandemic.
These respiratory clinics will now be transformed into mass vaccination hubs in order to immunise as many Australians as possible against the virus.
Associate Professor Shenouda said the anyone eligible for a vaccine could now make an appointment at the Wagga hub, which will be open for the duration of the federal government's staggered rollout.\

"It is set up to vaccinate as much people as we can. That's the idea - that you have someone to support general practices to deliver what needs to be delivered," he said.
"We're really pleased that the vaccines [have arrived]. We are glad that we are up in action."
A team of GPs, registered nurses and administrative staff will run the respiratory clinic vaccine hub.
Six million Australians are now eligible under phase 1b, which kicked off on Monday, including people aged 70 years or older, adults with underlying medical conditions and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 55 years or older.
Glenrock Country Practice also joins KRS Health Family Medical; Blamey Street Surgery; and Kooringal Medical Centre as the four Wagga GP clinics who will administer up to 80 vaccines each week.
Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network acting chief executive officer Julie Redway said last week that more than 90 per cent of eligible GPs across the region had expressed their interest in administering the vaccine.
"Over the coming weeks, more of our general practices will commence vaccinations, and we will keep you informed of these," she said.
