POLICE have charged a suspected senior member of the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang over his alleged involvement in the importation of illegal firearms following a morning raid on a Coolamon home.

Detectives from the National Anti-Gangs Squad assisted investigations into trafficking and use of illicit firearms, leading to the execution of a search warrant about 7am on Wednesday.
Officers seized ammunition, a baton, firearms documentation, cash, a 'STOP POLICE' sign and cannabis plants, which were taken for further examination.
A 35-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wagga Police Station where he was charged with possess or use a prohibited weapon without a permit, acquire prohibited firearm part with no authority to do so, goods suspected stolen in/on premises, deal with property proceeds of crime and cultivate prohibited plant.
Police will allege in court that the man attempted to import prohibited firearms parts.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Wagga Local Court on May 19.
