QantasLink will be launching their maiden voyage from Wagga to Melbourne service on April 2, which will be the first direct service of its kind for the airline.
Meanwhile Rex will be upscaling both their Wagga to Sydney and Wagga to Melbourne services to 12 return services per week, effective as of March 28.

Both airlines will also be recipients of the government's $1.2 billion package announced today, which is intended to subsidise tickets in a bid to revive the COVID-struck regional tourism industry.
The news was well received by Committee4Wagga chairwoman Justeen Kirk, who said better, more affordable air connection was crucial for the growth of regional Australia.
"One of the issues with flying was the cost - it was cost prohibitive - but if they're going to be offering some discounted tickets that makes it more accessible for people who wouldn't normally be able to travel," Ms Kirk said.
"It just makes our city that much more livable and helps us get to that 100,000 population target by having those services available as a drawcard."
A Rex spokesman said they would also be offering temporary discounts for Wagga flyers to mark the addition of their new routes.
The new routes are part of their expansion into capital cities, opening up more connecting flights from the Wagga Airport.
"To celebrate the introduction of domestic services Sydney to Gold Coast and Melbourne to Adelaide, Rex is also offering special PROMO thru fares Wagga to the Gold Coast via Sydney from $197 and Wagga to Adelaide via Melbourne from $198, with the Gold Coast and Adelaide domestic services commencing in the week of 29 March 2021 ahead of the Easter break," he said.
Qantas Group chief executive Alan Joyce said the government's stimulus package was a much-needed boost for the COVID ravaged industry.
"With the vaccine rollout now giving more certainty that state borders will stay open, this is the perfect time to provide stimulus and get people travelling domestically again, particularly given there won't be any international tourists for another seven months," Mr Joyce said.
Qantaslink is currently flying Sydney to Wagga three to four times a day during the week and two to three times a day on the weekends.
