Operation Spoiler saw Highway Patrol and police officers combine forces over the weekend with a focus on Tumut State Forest and Wagga.
"We had officers on trail bikes, ATVs and general Highway Patrol vehicles patrolling those areas and adjoining reserves and park lands in response to complaints of illegal trail bike activity," Gundagai Highway Patrol Acting Sergeant Adam White said.
The patrols paid off, according to Acting Sergeant White, who said 24 traffic infringement notices were issued.
"We also detected two persons driving with drugs in their system, seized three knives in a vehicle stop and arrested a person for breach of bail," he said.
The operation would be ongoing, with hopes of reinforcing the message of safe vehicle use.
"People are more than welcome to go to these reserves and forests for recreational activities but you must be licensed, it must be a roadworthy vehicle, and you must abide by the laws," Acting Sergeant White said.
