A man has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after being freed from the wreck of a car.

About 3.20pm on Saturday, emergency services were called to Milvale Road, Berthong, about 30km west of Young, following reports a vehicle left the road and clipped a tree, before travelling into a paddock and rolling on its roof.
On arrival, officers from The Hume Police District found the driver, a 71-year-old man, trapped.

He was freed and treated at the scene for head and internal injuries, and multiple fractures, before being airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
