Batting has been the Achilles heel for the Bulldogs and it's a problem that has flared up in the approach to finals.
Bowled out for 139 in their loss to Lake Albert last week, after scrapping home chasing the 122 set by Kooringal Colts to secure their finals berth, it is something captain Sam Perry hopes the team can improvement in a rematch with Colts at McPherson Oval on Saturday.
Perry labelled last week's loss as "very, very, disappointing" and is hoping the top five can more make of their opportunities this time around.
"We have to improve a hell of a lot this week to make a game of it," Perry said.
"A lot of cricket is a mentality thing and at the start of the year we didn't have much fear and were actually scoring reasonably good totals and chasing down higher targets but I think over the last six weeks it's been really mentally draining."
The return of Jack Carey should help add some depth to their batting order.
