With COVID health restrictions limiting people at the venue to competitors, Estella Public School was invited along to add a few more people into the stands.
Slater won the overall house title.
Forest Hill principal Cameron Williams said the students were happy to be back competing after most school sport was shut down after last year's swimming carnival.
"Only our competitive swimmers were allowed to be there due to restrictions, but it was great for them to get out there again," he said.
