COLLINGULLIE-Glenfield Park co-coach Jackson Sanbrook is confident the gap between the AFL Southern Women's benchmark teams and the chasing pack will close as new players and teams learn the game.

The competition newcomers won their opening game against Narrandera, but haven't scored a goal in their past two matches after being kept scoreless in a 70-point loss to heavyweights Charles Sturt University at Crossroads Oval on Friday night.
Sanbrook said patience is needed with most of their players new to the sport, and feels the imbalance will be rectified in coming years after three of this week's games proved to be mismatches.
"I think it will close up, they've all played other sports so once they get their heads around the rules and structures they'll be competitive," Sanbrook said.
"They did learn a fair bit off the CSU girls, who have been playing for a while. A lot of the girls haven't played before so we're still learning.
"A lot of the boys come and help out at training and watch the games on a Friday night at the Gullie, it adds a different dimension."
Lucy McKelvie-Hill bagged four goals for CSU, who are unbeaten after three games.
Elsewhere, North Wagga also maintained their perfect record with an 8.9 (57) to 1.1 (7) victory over Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong, with Skye Davey kicking four majors for the Saints.
East Wagga-Kooringal made light work of Narrandera 15.7 (97) to 0.1 (1) with Sophie Crouch kicking eight goals and Kyra Jackson five.
The tight match of the round was played at Griffith, where the Swans held off Brookdale 2.4 (16) to 2.0 (12) to secure their first win of the campaign.
Griffith scored three behinds in the first half while holding the Bluebells scoreless, but two majors to Brittany Everett proved enough for the hosts to prevail.
"One thing we worked on at training was trying to string a few handballs together to get out of trouble," Griffith coach Trevor Richards said.
"Our attack on the ball was really good, they (Brookdale) were a pretty physical side but we did that really well.
"It was really good to get a win up and going, and it's reward for effort. We've got a fairly new side this year, we've only got seven or eight girls backing up.
"We had a couple more opportunities and probably should have kicked a couple more, but they defended really well and put a lot of pressure on us."
