The Eagles have recruited centre half forward Angus Durnan, who was part of Wagga Tigers' AFL Riverina Championship premiership last year, as well as young key forward and Tigers junior Fergus Inglis.
Two experienced campaigners in former Ainslie captain Rob Tuohey and Belconnen halfback flanker Luke McKay have also come on board as Narrandera looks to rebound after taking last season off.
"Angus was here at training last night (Thursday) so it's great to have him on board," Hedington said.
"We've lost a couple of players up forward so we were after a couple of tall targets, and we're rapt with how it's panned out for us.
"I haven't seen Fergus play but he's young and has a good crack from what I've heard."
After winning three games in 2019, Hedington said being competitive is their sole focus and he's confident the extra experience and class they've added will help them win a couple more close games.
"It's massive for us having a 29-year-old premiership player (Durnan) come into the team. He and Rob will probably help a lot of the kids in those games which can go either way," he said.
"Barring three or four we've kept most of our first grade squad. Throw in a few recruits and that will go a long way for us."
As one of the clubs returning after a year off Hedington said it's been difficult getting everyone back into the football routine.
"It has been tough rallying the troops over the first couple of weeks of pre season. Everyone was a bit disinterested and forgot footy was going on, but we're getting back to a good group of numbers at training," he said.
"We're going in the right direction but we're still lacking a few."
