The sound of fire alarms filled the morning air at Sturt Mall this morning due to pressure fluctuations in the fire protection system.

The pressure in the shopping centre's piping system had started fluctuating, causing it to trigger the automatic fire alarm and notify Turvey Park Fire and Rescue NSW.
UPDATE, 9AM: A Sturt Mall spokeswoman said it was all part of a regularly scheduled pressure test, and that was no cause for further alarm.

Two firetrucks arrived at the shopping centre at around 7.30am in the morning, and firefighters quickly identified the source of the problem.
Turvey Park station commander Jeff Edwards said they adjusted the pressure in the system, assuring that everything was safe and that there was no cause for further alarm.
"We've reset the panels, and we've also upped the pressure just a bit in the pipes so everything stays a nice status quo so we won't have that issue again," Mr Edwards said.
"Absolutely everyone's safe, especially with the touch football in Wagga this weekend. There'll be thousands of people out and about, so I'm sure they'll have a fantastic weekend."
