The Bulldogs are currently two points clear of Kooringal Colts and St Michaels before the final round of the season.
A win over last-placed Lake Albert at Rawlings Park on Saturday would not only secure their finals berth but see them finish in third spot.
Captain Sam Perry believes the higher position offers plenty of incentive.
"Considering the weather we've had in the last few months you want to finish third," Perry said.
"If we play it doesn't make any difference, but in the lead up to the game it fills you with a bit more confidence that if we did get called off you get to go through."
More importantly Perry is looking to win to guarantee their finals place and build some momentum.
"You don't want to lose heading into finals," he said.
Wagga RSL are looking for a stronger performance with the bat however their leading runscorer Jack Carey will miss the clash.
Tim Cameron returns to the team in his place.
