Harness Racing NSW chief executive John Dumesny wasn't satisfied with the condition of the track at the club's first meeting in two months on Tuesday.

Rocks in the surface are the major concern.

"We're going to take up the top layer of the track, re-sieve it and re-lay it," Dumesny said.

"It appears some contamination came into potentially the last loads that were put on."

Dumesny does not believe the latest works will affect the club's next meeting set down for March 20 in the lead up to group one racing in Wagga over Easter.

The works, which will be done on site, start on Thursday.

BARMEDMAN trainer Kevin Johnstone scored his first win in over 23 years at Wagga on Tuesday.

After a third on debut at Leeton earlier this month, Notadoubt provided Johnstone with a breakthrough.

His last winner was when Pumpkinshangover scored at Temora on November 15 1997.

However Johnstone had only had 32 starters since then.

Notadoubt was part of a winning double for reinsman Daryll Perrot who combined with Tubbee Tee for Temora trainer Ron Tarbit in the previous race.

MAAJIDA is chasing her first open age group one after winning her way through to the Ladyship Mile.

The four-year-old, bred and owned by the Johnson family at The Rock, took out the group two Robin Dundee Stakes at Menangle on Saturday to qualify.

Leading all the way, the three-time group one winner set a new best mile rate of 1:50.3 with the win.

She just held off Rocknroll Angel, trained by former Young horseman Jason Grimson and driven by Cameron Hart, to win by a half head.

Maajida has drawn barrier five for the $200,000 final on Saturday.

COMING off her first win at Junee last week, Shes A Caribbean will step up to group two company.

The second foal of NSW Oaks winner Shes A Runa, Shes A Caribbean has drawn barrier nine in the Pink Bonnet at Menangle on Saturday.

Jackson Painting will take the drive for David Kennedy.

James McPherson also lines up Stravinksy in the NSW Derby heats while sister Brooke McPherson Rusty Crackers has engaged on the program.

YOUROCKANNA broke through for her first win in a year at Cobram on Friday.

The six-year-old had only been placed twice in 19 starts between successes, but finished too well for her rivals.

Trained by Hellen Scott, James McPherson was the winning driver.

It was a Riverina quinella with Shark Dancer finishing second for Tony Piltz.

YOUNG will hold an eight-race card on Friday.

The first is at 6.08pm.

Albury then races on Tuesday.
