A B-Double, carrying the herbicide glyphosate, left the road about 10 kilometres south of Tarcutta and hit a tree on January 29.

The crash tragically killed the driver, despite the efforts of passersby and first responders, and spilled up to 4000 litres of the chemical, some of which spread into Keajura Creek.

Results of water sampling by the Environment Protection Authority has since determined the water in the creek is safe for human consumption.

An EPA spokesperson said the results from the latest round of EPA sampling have recorded a herbicide concentration of 98.6 micrograms per litre.

"[This] is well below the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines limit of 1000 micrograms per litre for human consumption," they said.

"It is also well below the 370 micrograms level which is safe for aquatic organisms living in the creek.

"The EPA has advised local water users of the results and will continue to monitor the improvement of water quality in Keajura Creek."
