Last year, detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports a 16-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by a man, who is known to her, at a home near Wagga.
Officers arrested a 47-year-old man at a home at Ashmont on November 1.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with two counts of sexually touching another person without consent and one count of carrying out a sexual act with another without consent.

The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has asked for a three-hour hearing to present its evidence.
The case returns to court in October.
