A body has been found during a search for a man missing from Carrathool.

On Tuesday, police conducted a coordinated search of the Carrathool area and discovered the body of a man in the Murrumbidgee River at about 1.40pm.
Police confirmed the discovery on Wednesday and the body is yet to be formally identified. However, police believe it to be the 50-year-old man who went missing in the area at the weekend.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.

The discovery was made just days after police issued a public appeal to help find a man who was reported missing from Carrathool.
The man was believed to have been staying at the Pinkers Beach campsite and his vehicle containing personal items was located there.
He was last seen on Gordon Street in Carrathool about 8.15pm on Saturday.
Police said his disappearance was out of character. Inquiries into the man's death are continuing.
