Officers attached to the Riverina Police District went to a home on Crawford Street, Ashmont, about 12.30pm on Monday where they executed a search warrant.
Detective Inspector Adrian Telfer said police located a number of large cannabis plants, drugs and two unregistered air rifles.
"Those plants were in the vicinity of two to three metres tall, so they were quite mature, and officers located those in the backyard of a premises in Ashmont," he said.
"We're very pleased they're off the streets now."
A total of five mature cannabis plants were seized from the property, according to Detective Inspector Telfer, which he said had a hefty street value.
"You're probably looking at about $10,000 to $15,000 worth," he said.
Detective Inspector Telfer said police believed the plants were a part of a drug supply process across the region, and that more were yet to be found.
"Drug supply is a significant issue and one which we investigate every week," he said.
"I have no doubt that there is more out there in the Riverina, too."
A key aspect of the investigation was public reporting.
"Thankfully, we were able to come across some public information to spark that search warrant," Detective Inspector Telfer said.
"We did do a search warrant last week with a similar incident and reported that through the media, and following those reports, we received further information from the public which helped see us execute yesterday's operation."
The incident last week involved officers locating cannabis plants worth about $60,000 from an Ashmont home early on Thursday morning.
In other news:
The officers discovered about 30 mature cannabis plants in the backyard of the home, as well finding a taser, laser pointer and goods believed to have been stolen during the search.
The cannabis and items were all seized and sent away for forensic examination, and investigations in relation to that matter are continuing.
The occupants of the home searched on Monday were not present at the time, according to Detective Inspector Telfer, who said no arrests had been made as yet.
"We have since spoken to the occupants there and our inquiries are continuing, police were continuing to chase that up over Tuesday with hopes of a result soon," he said.
"These are things that don't go away, we will always continue to investigate until we have some kind of finality to it."
