Carnival coordinator David McGowan said the students enjoyed nice, warm conditions for the carnival at Oasis Aquatic Centre on Tuesday, with the event running smoothly.
Many of the top competitors in the senior events came from the victorious Brunskill, who were defending their 2020 title.
"They had some very good swimmers," McGowan said.
Top Brunskill swimmers Hayden Kennedy and Logan Foster will be neck-and-neck in the age champion count, with points to be tallied this week for a later announcement.
Among the highlights of the day was Kennedy's 41 second butterfly swim, breaking the school's record in the 50metre event.
Daisy Ramsay was a standout in the senior girls events, also swimming for the winning house.
While numbers were down in the juniors, McGowan said there were some impressive efforts in the races.
Kickboard races and 25m events gave the less experienced swimmers a chance to get in the pool and compete.
"They all did really well," McGowan said.
He said the students were competitive, fair and supportive through the day.
While fewer parents were able to spectate this year, the students made up for it in enthusiasm following the lead of the house captains.
"It was good they could cheer again," McGowan said.
"It was an awesome day."
