NSW Health Infrastructure and the MLHD lodged a development application for a six-storey, $30-million car park with Wagga City Council in December and say they will award the building contract in "early 2021".
The MLHD has said the new multi-storey car park, as well as additional car parking on two separate sites on the health campus, will more than double the current capacity to upwards of 900 spaces.
Construction on the car park will begin once the new outpatient building is complete, which is scheduled for early this year.
The MLHD expects the car park, which will be free for visitors, patients, and staff, to open in 2022.
