Tommy Town was an impressive winner at Wagga earlier in the month and is drawn box three for RSM Audit And Consulting Fifth Grade (320m).
Talbot believes Tommy Town, with a win and a second placing from his only two starts, is a smart dog in the making.
"He should go close," Talbot said.
"I think he's a fairly big chance. If he jumps to the front then he should be hard to beat. He can be slow away but moving forward if he can find the front then I think he'll take running down."
Talbot will also be represented by Malebo in the Ganmain Bakery Maiden (320m) and last-start winner Chasing Lights in the Rules Club Wagga Fifth Grade (400m).
"Malebo is coming back from a wrist injury and has been trialing well. He's been knocking on the door and if he can find the front, should go close," he said.
"Chasing Lights won well from the same draw last start so hopefully we can get a similar result."
