The reigning AFL Canberra premiers announced the signing of May last week.
May moved to Wollongong last year, so was already considered a loss to the Saints for their Farrer League premiership defence.
But the talented midfielder has opted to continue his football at Queanbeyan.
Former Griffith coach Adrian Pavese will co-coach Queanbeyan this season and was thrilled to get May on board.
"Jacob became good friends with Tigers premiership player Lachlan Highfield when he was down there, which set up the links in gaining Jacob's services," Pavese said.
May will join the likes of Highfield, Campbell Lovell, Will Griggs, Jordan Iudica, Toby Conroy, Jayden Lehman, Kade Klemke, Sam Jensen, Tim Shea, Kieran Shea and Daniel Hespe at Queanbeyan, all of who hail or have played in the region in recent times.
Pavese is set to be joined by Klemke as co-coaches this year, after the demise of the Canberra Demons.
May is a two-time North Wagga best and fairest and won the Farrer League Player of the Year award in 2018.
