NSW Rural Fire Services in the Riverina responded to reports of a "fast moving grass fire" on County Boundary Road late Friday afternoon.
Multiple local brigades and private units became involved as the situation unfolded.
A Bomber 277 was on standby to be deployed from Wagga airport if further assistance was required.
The RFS has said the "damage was kept to a minimum" but conditions were not helped by today's erratic weather patterns.
Strong winds fanned the flames making it a challenge for ground crew firefighters to control its spread.
It is understood the fire has now been brought under control.
There has been no reports of injury or damage to property.
