The incident occurred on Monday evening around 6.45pm, when three girls aged between 14 and 15 were walking along Fernleigh Road.
Riverina Police District Acting Inspector Stephen Marshall said that a 2011 model gunmetal grey or dark blue Ford XT approached the girls, with the driver believed to be in his mid-late 20s attempting to lure them into his car.
"[The driver] asked them multiple times where they were headed. They declined to answer, then he asked if they would like a lift," he said.
The girls refused the man's advances, before he "blew them kisses" and drove away.
"The young girls did a fantastic job in this situation by deterring the person," Acting Inspector Marshall said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The girls returned home, told their parents and the incident was reported to police, prompting a call for help from the public in identifying the vehicle and driver.
Police would now like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described as being of Indian or Asian appearance and was wearing a white shirt at the time.
Anyone who may have seen a Ford Falcon XT sedan (FG series), with black rims and a white registration plate, in the area around the time of the approach is urged to contact investigators.
Acting Inspector Marshall said if anyone else is approached by the vehicle, "do not engage this person".
"Practice exactly what these young girls did, which is to decline advances, keep walking and notify police immediately," he said.
"It is disappointing particularly being school holidays as many young people are out and about, and I encourage parents to know where their kids are at all times.
"The girls were walking together which is another benefit, and walking along a major road which is also smart."
