A 26-year-old woman has died in Leeton after a car she was driving crashed into a tree this afternoon. Police say the woman was driving a Mazda 3 east along Boree Road when it veered off and crashed into a tree on the road's southern side. Police say the crash occurred just before 2pm, about 1 kilometre east of the intersection of Triggervale Road. The driver died at the scene, while her 29-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries. Murrumbidgee Police District officers attended the scene and have commenced an investigation. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
