Keighen Charles Lloyd's change in plea avoided the need for a District Court trial, which had been set to get under way in Albury on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old will be sentenced by Judge Sean Grant on January 25, via a video link to jail.

His guilty pleas came just a couple of hours after his younger brother and co-offender, Joshua Lloyd, 20, was given a sentence date of March 2.

Both brothers appeared via video links to jail, where they have been held bail refused since their arrest over the incident in Pioneer Drive, Jindera, on November 22, 2019.

Joshua Lloyd's defence barrister, Christine Mendes, asked that her client appear in person for sentencing, which Judge Grant allowed.

"It looks like you're coming all the way to downtown Albury, Mr Lloyd," Judge Grant told him.

Keighen Lloyd firmly said "guilty" when he was arraigned on four charges related to the home invasion.

These were to charges of break and enter and commit serious indictable offence with a weapon, firing a firearm with disregard to safety, possess unauthorised and prohibited firearm and possess a shortened firearm but not a pistol without authority.

Neither of the brothers, who were supported in court by their mother, applied for bail.

An agreed set of Crown facts revealed the victim feared he was about to shot dead, then rushed to his laundry to release his dog.

It chased the brothers, who were wearing ski masks, outside. Before they fled, Keighen Lloyd fired a single shot into the house.

The victim was a licensed firearms dealer who had three pistols stored in a gun safe in his bedroom and six rifles in a gun safe in a shed.

He became concerned in September, 2019, that his stepson was involved in a dispute with Keighen Lloyd.

He had heard rumours that firearms would be stolen over a drug debt.
