The branch's inaugural meeting was held on November 21 in the Wagga Council Chambers, where new members and AWL NSW CEO put their heads together to begin the road to improving animal welfare standards across the region.
Wagga pet owners will now benefit from a range of services like subsidised desexing and microchipping programs for those in need, as well as the opportunity to participate in educational and fundraising initiatives, and contribute towards setting up a network of foster carers for dogs and cats that need rehoming.

Wagga Branch President Lakshmi Gopinath said they were grateful to all those who helped get the group up and running.
"We look forward to working hard in building and growing the branch to serve the Wagga community and promoting the vision of AWL NSW," she said.
