Wagga man David Edward Blake was charged following an investigation into the death of a man on Red Hill Road last year.
Just hours after leaving his daughter's engagement party on October 26, Mal Hackett was discovered by a passing motorist on the side of Red Hill Road at Glenfield Park.
The Riverina Police District worked with the Crash Investigations unit in Sydney and charged the 57-year-old man with failing to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death.
Police allege a Toyota Camry taxi being driven by Mr Blake hit Mr Hackett and he did not stop.

His solicitor Zac Tankard entered a not guilty plea on his behalf at court earlier in the year.
Mr Blake appeared in Wagga Local Court on Wednesday where a representative of Director of Public Prosecutions said the case would be committed for trial.
Magistrate Christopher Halburd said the matter would appear before the Wagga District Court on January 29, where Mr Blake would be asked to confirm his plea.
Following that, a date will be set for the trial to take place.
