Severe fire danger has been forecast for Lower Central West Plains, Eastern Riverina, Southern Riverina and Northern Riverina on Saturday, November 28, with the total fire ban coming into force from midnight tonight.
The NSW Rural Fire Service is urging residents in these areas to go over their bushfire survival plans and be prepared.
During a total fire ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.
In other news:
General purpose hot works like grinding, welding, gas cutting or any activity that produces a spark or flame are not to be done in the open.
The NSW RFS strongly recommends you reconsider activities such as such using a tractor or slashing, and to stay up to date with possible Harvest Safety Alerts.
