Mater Dei were looking for their third straight title, but TRAC claimed the trophy for the first time since 2017 with a 4-2 victory.

Goalkeeper Isaac Collingridge led from the front with his experience and was named player of the final, while Ella Creighton was judged Mater Dei's best in their 9-7 girls final win over Kooringal High.

With half times increased from seven minutes in the round games to ten in the decider, TRAC boys coach Ryan Robertson said it was a battle of attrition with so few goals scored.

"In the second half there was one goal scored. Usually if you score you can sub a couple of players off or allow everyone to have a breather, but it was up and back the whole game and there was a lot of tired bodies in the end," he said.

"We had a couple of boys who play water polo, in particular Isaac Collingridge in goal who was able to lead the team and guide those boys who don't play.

"Brody Oliver was exceptional, he scored a lot of great goals and it was impressive to get the win, we probably would have been underdogs for the final."

Participation was up across the board with the girls increasing from five teams to eight, bringing the number of players to around 120.
