Ahead of the 60th anniversary of Dale's IGA and Liquor on Monday, Mr Dale told The Border Mail he had been having meetings with community members about moving his collection of historic artefacts from the store's basement to the main street.
"We're donating the collection to the town," Mr Dale said.
"Whilst it's unique because [the museum] is under a working supermarket, the people that enjoy the most are the older people who can't get down because of the steps."

The museum contains items from throughout Henty's history, including the old manual telephone exchange and the town's first ambulance (a jinker used to transport an injured lumberjack).
Mr Dale said the community was looking to form a committee to organise the new museum.
"Instead of being a private museum as it is now where you get no funding, but if it's a volunteer committee therefore they can get some funding," he said.
Mr Dale said the plan was in its infancy.
His daughter Narelle Morey hopes the committee will record or video Mr Dale talking about each item in the museum, to bring the items to life with his stories.
