It comes after the city's councillors approved an offer from Cumnock Constructions Sustainability for stage one and two of the redevelopment for $3.6 million.
The council's project coordinator Tom Lemerle said this has been a long time coming, but construction will start in the new year and is expected to take about 11 months.

The redevelopment comes as part of the Museum of the Riverina's masterplan and the renewal of the botanic gardens precinct, which saw the Brolga Pond redeveloped and the inclusion of an adventure play space in the Australian Native Garden.
