Central Wagga's Rosemary Drummond said, more than six months ago, the council decided to tear down trees and rip up the lawn, shrubs and garden bed on the Fox Street side of the park, leaving behind mounds of dirt and sand.
Ms Drummond said it is an eyesore for the neighbourhood and one that she is tired of seeing everyday for months on end.
She said there are rumours circulating about what the works will include, but regardless of what they might be she was ready to see some action.
In other news:
"Everyone is sick of the sight of it," she said. "I know the council has plenty of other jobs to be done, but ... just get on with it already.
"It just spoils the park and hopefully we can go back to having a nice garden."
The Daily Advertiser asked the council to explain what it plans for Collins Park and the reason for the delay.
A Wagga City Council spokesperson said the council strongly encourages residents to contact its customer service team on 1300 242 442 to lodge a request about any item of concern or if they would like an update on a submitted request.
