The Daily Advertiser asked the NSW Department of Education which schools in the Riverina region would be included on the restoration list, but was told the list is yet to be finalised.
"The indicative program includes up to 400 schools, but final scoping of works is underway, with projects prioritised based on current condition and benefits," the spokesperson said.
Schools will not need to apply for the funding, instead allocation will be determined on a needs basis and depending on the current condition of the roof.
The spokesperson further explained that potential restorations would include replacing downpipes, fascia, barge boards, eaves and soffits.
"Work may also include the potential redesign of roofs to rectify historical issues, including water traps," they said.
During the announcement on Monday, which preceded this week's state budget release, Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said it was expected the works would result in up to 300 job creations.
"Wherever possible, local contractors and suppliers will be engaged to ensure that the positive impact of this stimulus is felt through the regions," Ms Mitchell said.
