This week, Australia's Great Inland Classic Boat Show threatened to permanently relocate if the lake's water levels do not rise before the start of summer.
It is a timeframe unlikely to be met, with Wagga council submitting a proposal to the state's water minister Melinda Pavey only this week, requesting to use water diverted from the Murrumbidgee River to top up the lake.
In other news:
A spokesperson for the minister said they will assess the submission and provide feedback, but further work with the council "might be required to reach a sustainable solution."
They said the government however, is "very interested" in helping the council establish a preferred option that is acceptable to the council, the community and water users.
