TRAC enjoyed a 22-7 win against Kildare in the penultimate round of the Super Sixes at Conolly Rugby Complex with a dominant performance - even with key players missing - that drew praise from their opposition.

"We were beaten by a much better team, TRAC were really up for the game," Kildare's Mick McTaggart said.

"TRAC were more enthusiastic, they bustled us, they just played better."

Kildare were down two tries to one at half-time but McTaggart thought they were still in the game.

"I was still confident, but in the second half they were dominant. We hardly saw their side of halfway so at the end of the day, our pleasing aspect was our defence (conceding one second half try)."

Ryley Watson and Eli Williams led Kildare's efforts. The result ended their unbeaten run, while TRAC maintained their winning streak but a crunch game awaits against reigning champs Mater Dei next Thursday.

Mater Dei powered to a big win against Wagga Christian College. Their only loss has been to Kildare and the arch-rivals sit one win behind leaders TRAC.

Kildare will play Kooringal High in their final round, who beat Wagga High 19-0 in Thursday's final game.

The top two teams after next week progress straight to the grand final, meaning bonus points or for-and-against could be critical if Mater Dei can overcome TRAC.
