ST Michaels captain Beck Frostick believes the introduction of an all 50-over season is the best way forward for Wagga cricket as he looks to lead his team to their first win of the campaign against South Wagga at Robertson Oval on Saturday.

After their first two games were washed out the Saints were beaten by three wickets by Wagga RSL last week after they were dismissed for 183 batting first.
It doesn't get any easier against South Wagga who enjoyed a strong win over defending premiers Wagga City in last week's grand final rematch.
But Frostick is optimistic the gap between the traditional top teams and the rest will narrow this year due to the 50-over format.
"I think the new concept will provide a lot more close games. I'm hoping the league will be a lot closer this year, because on your day in one day cricket anyone can beat anyone," he said.
"One day cricket is the best format to promote the youngsters through the grades. Two day cricket is no way to progress youngsters, and you're going to get more opportunities through the rep cricket in Wagga so I think it's the way forward."
The Saints will be without key bowler Chris Donaldson due to work commitments, and are hopeful Dan Coates will be available to take his place in the side.
