Chasing St Michaels' 183, the pair put on 91 runs for the fourth-wicket partnership at Wagga Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Things looked shaky when Morley was run out by Jack Reynolds for 62 after the drinks breaks but Charlie Cull (24) helped settle things to take a three-wicket win.
Captain Sam Perry was thrilled with how the batting order stood up.
"Unfortunately we lost two wickets in the first over after drinks but Charlie Cull steadied the shop and Jack Carey (53) was good enough to bring up his 50 and thankfully we didn't have too many left at the end or it could have got a bit interesting," Perry said.
Reynolds (51) put St Michaels in a good spot with a strong partnership with captain Beck Frostick (35) but with their 78-run partnership was broken by Perry Saints lost 7-39 to be bowled out in the last over.
Perry finished with 4-36 off his 10 overs and was pleased with how his team was able to claw St Michaels back.
"They batted really well and I think the turning point might have been Matty O'Neill," he said.
"He really bowled to his plan, didn't go for any runs at all and tied up one end which forced a few wickets from the other end
Wagga RSL fell short of South Wagga last week but Perry was pleased with how they regrouped against the club who knocked them out of finals last season.
"I was extremely confident we could carry a bit momentum into this week," he said.
"We nearly fell short there but Jacky Carey and Will Morley got us out of trouble."
Perry is now looking to back up that performance when they tackle Lake Albert on Saturday while St Michaels are chasing their first win up against South Wagga.
