Christa died on September 20, 2020, at 70 years of age after an almost two-year battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
Well-known throughout Wagga for her role as an independent real estate consultant with Remax, Christa dedicated much of her time to supporting her fellow community members through volunteering and fundraising.
But Christa's story didn't start in Wagga, with the "bubbly" personality born in Bavaria, Germany, on July 23, 1950.
After migrating to Australia with her parents and sister Inge at seven years old, Christa enrolled in Sacred Heart Primary School in Kooringal.
She spent her secondary schooling years at Mount Erin where she excelled in swimming, netball and later, tennis.
For many, their first glimpse of Christa was as she rolled up to a property in her silver Mercedes, followed by an effervescent smile and charismatic greeting ready to take care of her clients.
That passion for life rippled through all she did, be it running a shoe shop, selling properties, volunteering for charitable organisations like Riding for the Disabled, or even in her down time with a love for cruising the seas in luxury.
Christa's husband Tom reflected on her drive to achieve and strong work ethic, paired with a kind soul.
"She was a very loving person to everyone she was associated with, whether it was family, friends or work colleagues," he said.
One work colleague who knew the hard worker well is Nicole Kemp.
"I started with Christa 15 years ago now, I was in reception and she was in sales," she said.
"From the very first moment, I looked up to her and said, 'I want to be just like her'."
Ms Kemp said she spent the last four years working alongside Christa as a sales consultant, learning from the best.
"She took me under her wing and has always been my mentor, she guided me through those first tough years in sales where many don't make the cut, and made sure I didn't sink," she said.
"She was like my work mum, and my best friend on the job."
Christa also played a big role in supporting the Carmelite Monastery as part of the Ladies Auxiliary.
The Carmelite Sisters remembered her as a dear friend.
"Christa's gifted, beautiful and generous spirit sparkled through her vivacious personality," the Sisters shared.
"She graced us all with joy, lightness and gratitude for the precious gift of friendship and love."
Christa is survived by her husband Tom, sister Inge, and much-loved extended family.
