The 14-year-old Tumut boy is set to perform live in Wagga at the Artstate event in November alongside fellow Riverina-bred singer-songwriter, William Crighton.

"It's really, really exciting to be a part of it all," Phillips said.

"William has been a bit of an idol to me - not because he's mega famous, but to see what he's achieved and how far he's taken his music when coming from the same area as me is really inspiring."

The young star will open for Crighton, performing a set of mostly original songs as well as covers.

"This will be one of the first live shows since Covid, so it's very exciting to be in front of a crowd again and to catch up with all the other musicians too," he said.

"I've missed connecting with the whole family that is in the music industry, so I can't wait to get back out there."

Phillips will open for Crighton on November 7 at the Wagga Civic Theatre, kicking off at 7pm.
