After a tough hit out against Tolland in the semi-final, coach Anthony Zuccato is confident his side are in the best possible shape for a grand final.
"That was a big game to step up for especially after not playing for three weeks before it," he said.
"They are definitely excited for Sunday. We definitely can't take them (Cootamundra) lightly.
"The girls are pumped and in their prime."
In the two clashes between the sides earlier in the season, Hanwood picked up a 3-0 win in Cootamundra before being held to a 1-1 draw at home by the Strikers.
Zuccato knows they will be pushed if the last encounter is any indication.
"They have given us a good run both times we have played them this season," he said.
"They have always been a physical side, and they do pass the ball around well.
"I'm expecting that they will push us to the limit."
The achievements of the side is nothing short of incredible in their two years back in the Football Wagga completion.
They have only lost one game and secure their second straight minor premiership three weeks earlier.
"To go through the year undefeated is a huge achievement and realistically in two years they have dropped one game," he said.
"That is a massive accomplishment on its own."
With a physical game expect, Zuccato knows he will need a big performance for the ladies in the middle of the park.
"I think it will be in the midfield and in our forwards," he said.
"We need to get our combinations together which we sort of went away from a bit last week because we had to play more defensive.
"Hopefully we can open up our attack and link our backs and midfield and then our midfield, and forwards I think we are in with a good chance."
Unfortunately, Hanwood will have one player missing the final due to an injury she wasn't quite able to shake off.
"Unfortunately we have one who is out injured who won't play this weekend in Felicity McClure," he said.
"Got the message from her this morning which is unfortunate but outside of that it will be the same 15 that played on Sunday, and that was a big game, and I'm sure they will all step up for it."
The Leonard Cup decider will kick off at 2pm on Sunday at McDonald Park.
