White was let go after 10 years in the role on Friday.
Brewer, who trains alongside her husband Trevor, has plenty of harness racing administration experience when they were based in the Hunter region.
However she is not looking to hold the role permanently when the recruitment process gets under way.
"I've had experience and was the secretary when Newcastle was built many, many years so I'll just steady the ship until they employ someone else," Brewer said.
"They will advertise after Christmas and decide which direction they are going in."
