It will be a big moment for Leeton when they run out in Sunday's Pascoe Cup grand final in what is the club's first grand final appearance in first grade since 2004.
Fondacaro has played with Leeton United since he was five-years-old, having been a regular in the first grade team for the past decade.
He said it would mean the world to him to help break the club's premiership drought against Hanwood.
"It means everything. I'm so excited to be in there, I don't really have words to explain it," Fondacaro said.
"I qualified for ressies this year and there was some talk of playing on the weekend but I didn't want to risk it because I've been waiting for this moment for so long.
"It's my first time making the first grade grand final. It's definitely very exciting and there's a big hype around the club considering we haven't won it for 27 years. It creates something special for the whole club, not just the team."
While some droughts can add an element of pressure, Fondacaro insists they are not feeling the weight of expectation.
"I wouldn't say pressure, I'd say it's more just a moment to enjoy, considering it's been so long," he said.
"We're just going to do our best and hopefully bring one home for the club."
Fondacaro said the fact they take on arch-rivals Hanwood in the decider only adds to the occasion.
"I think everyone knows there is a bit of rivalry there going way back, I guess it just creates an even better occasion," he said.
Leeton and Hanwood played out a 1-1 earlier in the season and both will enter Sunday's grand final at Equex Centre on the back of strong finals form.
The 27-year-old said Leeton will go in confident but not cocky.
"We've had a great season and there is a lot of positivity around the boys, everyone's trained hard and there's been a lot of depth this year so everyone's pushed hard for their spots and it's created a good culture around the whole club really," he said.
"Hanwood's definitely not going to be easy, and our 6-0 win against Henwood Park is nothing to go by because they both play a very different style of football. I think it's definitely going to be the toughest game of the year by far."
