The 15-month-old steer is set to go under the hammer at the Wagga Livestock Marketing Centre to raise funds for the Willans Hill School.
At the moment he weighs around 550 kilograms and Mr Rodd estimates the steer called "Friday" could tip the scales at 600 kilograms by the time he sells next month.
Over the years Mr Rodd has helped to prepare dozens of charity steers in partnership with the Wagga RSL but he conceded to being "a bit fond of this one."
"I'd like to keep him," Mr Rodd said.
The steer was bred at Gregadoo and is sired by a bull called Wagga National.
Wagga National is by Wirruna Daffy D1 (P) out of Wirruna Golden Vanity F395 (ET) (P). This particular female is sired by Allendale National W168 (PP).
Mr Rodd said this pedigree had helped to breed an exceptional steer.
This week children from the Willans Hill School were able to meet Friday and give him a pat before he sells on November, 9.
Friday is the 14th steer prepared in partnership between the Wagga RSL and MR Rodd and so far a total of $160,000 has been raised.
Mr Rodd talked to the children about the preparation of Friday and he also helped them to get close enough to enjoy a pat.
The steer was donated by Ray and Margaret McDonald.
